A friend sent me a copy of her latest artwork this evening. Wow!! What a brilliantly vibrant piece. At the end an extremely busy day it reminded me that one of the important reasons for working is getting the money and time to engage in some creative activities.
Also, on a weekend when I have to write a complex tender, rewrite a course for a client, prepare for my Fresh Steps taster and a senior women's programme with a new client AND make a start on a really creative presentation for next Saturday, seeing her picture really reminded me that my creativity is really helping me every day.
And it reminded me that I need to write more non-work stuff. Writing tenders is one sort of challenge and poetry/prose is different.
And it reminded me that we should celebrate and share what we achieve so I poured a glass of merlot, grabbed a bowl of olives and listened to the first episode of Old Harry's Game as a celebration of this week's achievements – getting my second newsletter off the ground (going out on Monday), having a successful meeting on Tuesday, getting in front of a new global client, getting some fantastic feedback on my coaching and the Positive Energy newsletter, getting Google analytics to work on my blog so I now know that 85% of you readers come from the UK, getting blog readers through from Twitter, getting paid earlier than anticipated by a client, fantastic profit forecast for 08/09, selling 60% of my 08/09 days only 4 months into the financial year, finally getting my laptop collected for repair.
And I thought that this week had been a bit flat!!
