I'm a specialist in positive thinking and personal development for women & older workers.
I always come away from Sue’s courses with positive actions that I know will happen. Joyce Dixon HR Manager, Northumbria University
To have felt this inspired and supported has been totally addictive. Anne Crowns, H&E Gill, Yorkshire
Sue works with women to enable them to take their careers further than they thought possible. She delivers targeted personal development within organisations to help them attain a better gender balance, specifically providing interventions that result in more women making the transition to senior and specialist roles. She also works with self-employed women and women business owners to help them to take control and set, then achieve, stretching goals for themselves and their work.
Sue is one of only 15 UK based facilitators licensed to deliver both award winning and internationally recognised Springboard and Spring Forward Women’s Development Programmes. She is a highly experienced trainer, holding a distinction in her training qualification accredited by the CIPD. She is also one of only 50 coaches working with the Emotions and Behaviours at Work online assessment and coaching tool. Sue is a qualified NLP practitioner, and is working towards her Master’s qualification, training with John and Katherine LaValle in Florida and Peter McNab in the North West. Sue also holds a PhD from Birmingham University, a qualification gained during a previous successful biomedical research career.
Her ability to quickly establish rapport and build trust with highly diverse groups of women has enabled Sue to work with a wide range of organisations including UN Agency for Relief and works for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East, Cumbria Constabulary, British Transport Police, Cambridge Probation Service, Oxford Radcliffe NHS Trust, KPMG, the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Dodd Accountants in Cumbria and Blackwell Publishing in Oxford.
Research at the UK Home Office in 2005 indicated that insufficient numbers of women were progressing to Senior Civil Service grades. Sue was part of a small hand picked team that developed and delivered a new senior women’s programme, Development Plus, in 2006, that was offered to those at Prison Governor level and equivalent. Results showed clear increases in self perception of senior management potential, confidence in reaching senior grades and having a clear career strategy. She has also worked with local women’s groups in Cumbria, Northumberland, Yorkshire and Wilshire and has recently taken women’s development out into the rural business environment, winning EU funding to run a number of programmes for women in farming, horticulture and forestry in South Yorkshire.
Sue’s style is informal yet challenging. She is an enthusiast who really lives in her training work, bringing energy and enjoyment to the training environment. She leads participants in her programmes to discover their own answers, helping them gain confidence to use the tools and techniques that she teaches to make continuing progress after the training has ended. She is unfailingly positive in her support and belief in women’s ability to embrace change and start to think about themselves differently, guiding them towards achieving greater self esteem, establishing clear career and personal goals and taking steps to achieve them.
